There is a close association between FGF23 and many unwanted outcomes such as a high incidence of infections, hospitalizations, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and death in CKD patients; therefore, it is a priority not only to understand the mechanisms whereby FGF23 signals are transduced but also the variables associated with the increase in FGF23 so therapeutic strategies can be activated [18,19,20,21]. Here, FGF23 is linked to chronic kidney disease.
