Our data, together with previous clinical trials (71–73), suggest that selective TXA2 inhibitors such as picotamide might present an alternative to target platelet TXA2 while sparing other gastroprotective COX-1 products (i.e., PGI2), and thus might be a safer therapeutic option for the prevention of metastatic disease. Here, PTGS1 is linked to metastatic neoplasm.
