RLN3 and psychiatric disorder: Furthermore, given the involvement of the hippocampus and the strong anatomical and functional relationship between the septum and the hippocampus, and behavioral and neuroanatomical findings from the current study, further studies of the MS/DB in neurodegenerative and psychiatric disease models are also warranted (Belarbi et al., 2011; Van der Jeugd et al., 2011; Loreth et al., 2012) and should include investigations of relaxin-3/RXFP3 systems.
