Chimeric E2A-PBX1 oncoproteins retain an ability to bind DNA in association with HOX transcription factors22,23, and co-expression with HOXA9 accelerates E2A-PBX1 mediated leukemogenesis24, suggesting that E2A-PBX1 directly impacts the HOX transcriptional regulatory pathway in acute leukemia pathogenesis. Here, PBX1 is linked to acute leukemia.
