AMY1A and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency: Some studies found no association between AMY1 CNVs and obesity [10,11,12], while others reported that lower AMY1 CNVs are associated with a higher BMI in prepubertal boys [13], in young male and female adults [14], and in a cohort of 597 Mexican children [15], as well as with early-onset obesity in a female Finnish population [16].
