In the present study, we analyzed tau phosphorylation in AD P-tau-injected hippocampus in Tg/hTau mice and found site-specific hyperphosphorylation and SDS- and reducing agent-resistant high molecular weight smears of tau, but no alteration in the levels of tau phosphatases or kinases in AD P-tau injected hippocampus. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
