Although, multiple studies have investigated gene–gene and gene–environment interactions involved in obesity pathogenesis (Ordovás et al., 2011; Reddon et al., 2016; Rask-Andersen et al., 2017; Mangum and Mangum, 2018), no study has yet investigate potential interactions involving NFKB1, IKBKB, SOCS3 and macronutrients and alcohol intakes. Here, SOCS3 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
