Although, multiple studies have investigated gene–gene and gene–environment interactions involved in obesity pathogenesis (Ordovás et al., 2011; Reddon et al., 2016; Rask-Andersen et al., 2017; Mangum and Mangum, 2018), no study has yet investigate potential interactions involving NFKB1, IKBKB, SOCS3 and macronutrients and alcohol intakes. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
