CD8A and viral infectious disease: Finally, to evaluate seperately the importance of local inflammatory cues in establishing persisting CD8+ T-cell memory in the CNS following a systemic viral infection, mice were infected with LCMV i.v. and 30 days later injected i.c. with either AdM-IFN-γ, an adenovector encoding an unrelated antigen or PBS; as positive controls immunized mice were challenged with 103 pfu LCMV i.c. as above.
