In addition to mitosis-/cancer-related pathways (mitotic spindle and YAP1 and WWTR1 controlled genes expression), molecular functions highlighted by this analysis included chromatin modification and organization, PPAR-gamma pathway, Notch signaling, circadian clock regulated gene expression, and mRNA processing, suggesting potential molecular processes linking striatal pathology of PD to the emergence of sleep and mood symptoms. Here, WWTR1 is linked to Parkinson disease.
