PDCD10 and famililal cerebral cavernous malformations: Mutants defective in CCM-3/PDCD10, a protein that resides in several complexes that regulate mammalian vascular integrity (preventing Cerebral Cavernous Malformations), also show variation in vesicle size, with larger vesicles with a thick coat that may contain vacuolar ATPase located farther from the luminal surface than are smaller vesicles closer to the apical surface (Lant et al. 2015; Pal et al. 2017).
