CRP and Thrombocytopenia: Initial investigations revealed marked thrombocytopenia, neutrophilia with low normal white blood cell count, high C-reactive protein (236 mg/L), high serum creatinine (267 micromol/L), elevated liver transaminases (AST > ALT), urine analysis showed pus cells 65–70, red cells 15–20 and albumin 2+ (urine culture became negative).
