HDAC6 and malignant colon neoplasm: Aceroside VIII: In HT29 human colon cancer cells, it has been demonstrated that Aceroside VIII, a diarylheptanoid isolated from Betula platyphylla, can selectively inhibit HDAC6 catalytic activity; and the combinatorial treatment of aceroside VIII with A452, a selective HDAC6 inhibitor, led to a synergistic elevation in the levels of acetylated α-tubulin leading to apoptosis and growth inhibition of the cancer cells [70].
