Considering the evidence that long-term oral treatment with Rho-kinase inhibitor markedly attenuated the accumulation of macrophage and the coronary lesion formation in a porcine model of atherosclerosis [49], we believe Rho-kinase inhibition is beneficial for the prevention of atherogenic changes: however, in order apply to ROCK2-targeted therapy in a clinical setting, further investigation in vivo will be required. The gene discussed is ROCK2; the disease is atherosclerosis.
