However, large, well–designed cohort studies are required to validate MUC2 as a biomarker for poor prognosis in CRC.11 High circulating IL‐6 was associated with short overall survival in most studies in CRC cancer patients and may be used as a therapeutic target of CRC.12 Furthermore, classic biomarkers, including RAS, BRAF, and microsatellite instability (MSI), can also be used for CRC diagnosis.13 Though various biomarkers have been explored, no ideal biomarker was identified for clinical application.
