miR‐181a‐5p was observed with low expression in non‐small cell lung cancer,23 hepatocellular carcinoma,24 gastric cancer,25 ovarian cancer,26 and colorectal cancer.27 Most of the aforementioned studies demonstrated that miR‐181a‐5p inhibited cell proliferation and migration.23, 27 Others reported that lncRNAs may interact with miR‐181a‐5p to modulate cancer progression, such as CRNDE, MEG2, ZEB1‐AS1, and CCAT1.25, 27, 28, 29 Our study showed that miR‐181a‐5p was downregulated in cervical cancer cells. The gene discussed is PTPN9; the disease is ovarian cancer.
