GATA3 and neoplasm: GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) is a transcription factor crucial for mammary gland morphology and cell differentiation and acts as a tumor suppressor.15 Studies by Dydensborg et al have shown that overexpression of GATA3 could inhibit tumor growth and lung metastasis.16 Presently, GATA3 SNP mutations were identified in BC samples, and were positively correlated with expression levels, that is, the expression level of GATA3 was also increased in mutant samples.
