Mutant Ras proteins are constitutively active, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation, and can be associated with nearly one-third of human cancers such as pancreatic, epidermal, lung, colorectal cancers, or multiple myeloma [28]. Myc is a member of the MYC oncogene family (Myc, Mycn, and Mycl) that encodes a phosphoprotein being able to transform cells through multiple pathways [29, 30]. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is AL amyloidosis.
