Once again at this early time-point after infection, no major differences were observed in terms of infection-induced IFN-γ secretion (now by CD8+ T cells), while a significant increase in the splenic CD8+ T cells with the ability to produce either IL-10 or IL-2 was observed comparing BALB/c mice with both C57BL/6 and SV/129 animals (Figure 5A; at least p ≤ 0.05 comparing normalized values). This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and infection.
