Somehow unexpectedly, mRNA expression of TNF-α and IL-6 along with the chemokine CCL-5 responsible for the chemotaxis of lymphocytes and its receptor CCR-1 did not differ between CAD and non-CAD subjects or between SAT and EAT, respectively, even though a trend to increased mRNA expression of IL-6 was observed in EAT vs. SAT in both groups. The gene discussed is CCR1; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
