Together, these data demonstrate that the expression of FcγRIIA and IL-1β are closely associated during colitis and raise the possibility that anti-commensal IgG might contribute to intestinal inflammation via FcγR-dependent induction of IL-1β, a Th17-polarizing cytokine (Chung et al., 2009, Shaw et al., 2012), and neutrophil-recruiting chemokines. The gene discussed is IL1B; the disease is colitis.
