Recent studies have shown that the therapeutic administration of DON in the late phase of murine cerebral malaria, from day 6 post-infection of P. berghei ANKA infection in CB57BL/6 mice, has an inhibitory effect on parasitemia, further showing that the glutamine analog is able to prevent pathogenic CD8+ T cell responses (Gordon et al., 2015). This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and parasitic infectious disease.
