In mouse models it has been demonstrated that foxa2 is necessary for the pancreatic α-cells differentiation and tissue-specific foxa2 ablation leads to an imbalance in pancreatic β/α-cell ratio, profound hypoglucagonemia, inappropriate hyperinsulinaemia and hypoglycaemia (105, 155, 158, 159). This evidence concerns the gene FOXA2 and Hypoglycemia.
