Interestingly, only 4 isoforms of the 17 coding isoforms of Fgfr2 displayed high expression in females, indicating that, in addition to the role that some isoforms can have in male GSD [40], others may play a critical role in female GSD, and that the current classification of Fgfr2 in 2 isoforms may need to be updated.
