Collectively, our data do not support a role for Dectin-2 in atherosclerosis development, while deletion of hematopoietic CARD9 increased atherosclerosis development, but tended to reduce macrophage content in line with reduced monocyte recruitment signaling, without altering the phenotype of macrophages recruited to the aorta or plaque. The gene discussed is CARD9; the disease is atherosclerosis.
