In breast cancer patients, the relative proportion of monocytes increased by a median of 91% (median absolute change 6.6%) after chemotherapy, whereas B cells and CD4-T cells decreased by a median of 100% (median absolute change − 2.5%) and 39% (median absolute change − 6.0%), respectively (all p values < 0.001) (Fig. 2). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is breast carcinoma.
