The phosphorylated GAPDH directly interacts with SIRT1 and activates SIRT1 deacetylase activity.27 Some studies also have shown that AMPK and SIRT1 are associated with cell aging and neurological disorders.28 It is also be reported that overexpression of SIRT1 has a protective effect on Alzheimer's disease.19, 29, 30 Therefore, we wonder whether exercise could activate SIRT1 in the brain.
