The AFM measurement showed that the Young’s modulus of a 61-year-old healthy donor and a HGPS patient was much higher than that of a 4-year-old healthy donor, suggesting that the nuclear stiffness of HGPS cells was similar to that of cells derived from an old donor, since progerin accumulates with time, as seen during natural aging [81].
