Accordingly, we found that NAA40 reduction and subsequent downregulation of PRMT5 results in decreased expression of Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 3 (FGFR3) and Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4E (EIF4E) oncogenes and derepression of RB Transcriptional Corepressor Like 2 (RBL2) and Cyclin Dependent Kinase Inhibitor 1 A (CDKN1A) tumor suppressors, which, respectively, are activated and repressed by PRMT5 in proliferating CRC cells (Fig. 5e and Supplementary Figures S3D and S4D). Here, PRMT5 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
