These include cases of Cornelia de Lange syndrome caused by defective deacetylation of SMC3, a subunit of the cohesin complex (Deardorff et al. 2012), as well as the regulation of the tumor-suppressor functions of TP53 through acetylation mediated by CBP/EP300 (Liu et al. 1999; Iyer et al. 2004). Here, TP53 is linked to Cornelia de Lange syndrome.
