These findings together with our previous identification of rs4487645 at 7p15.3, as a modulator of IRF4 binding at an enhancer element of the c-Myc-interacting gene CDCA7L in multiple myeloma25–27, support the role of the genetic variants in IRF8 and its interacting partner in GNAQ in multiple myeloma susceptibility. This evidence concerns the gene CDCA7L and plasma cell myeloma.
