Interestingly, we found that most of the cancer-associated genes harboring germline mutation were involved in DNA repair, such as MLH1, BRCA1, BRCA2, MUTYH, ATM, PMS2, MSH6, BAP1, and FANCA. Mutations in mismatch repair genes, including MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, and PMS2, were the well-known causative germline predisposition factors in CRCs. The gene discussed is MLH1; the disease is cancer.
