GRIN2B and Huntington disease: Despite variability between experiments indicated by the standard deviation (Figure 1B–E), when comparing between the two genotypes within each experiment (paired genotype ratios are connected by lines), we found a consistent reduction in GluN2B palmitoylation levels in YAC128 striatal tissue at both 1 and 3 months of age (Figure 1A,B); however, we found no genotype difference in cortical tissue at 1 month (Figure 1C), correlating with the increased vulnerability of striatal neurons to degeneration in the earliest stages of HD (Vonsattel and Difiglia, 1998).
