Cells ectopically expressing BCL-XL were also very significantly protected from TL/Btz-induced apoptosis (**P < 0.01; Fig. 4d) and PARP cleavage (Fig. 4e) compared to controls, indicating that TRAF2/BCL-XL downregulation and TRAF3 upregulation contribute functionally to TL/Btz toxicity in MM cells.
