We found that mean serum Preptin in rachitic children was significantly lower than in healthy controls and this finding was close to the study of Ning, et al., and Ozkan et al., who documented lower levels of Preptin in patients with osteopenia and osteoporosis, with a positive correlation between bone mineral density(BMD) and Preptin levels [5, 17]. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2 and Osteopenia.
