TRPV2 gene silencing in the high-grade U87MG GBM cell line increases the proliferation and resistance to apoptotic cell death, by up-regulating cyclin E1, cyclin-dependent kinase 2, E2F1 transcription factor 1, V-raf-1 murine leukemia viral oncogene homolog 1, and the apoptotic survival factor, Bcl-XL, as well as down-regulating Fas/CD95 and procaspase-8 mRNA expression. Here, FAS is linked to glioblastoma.
