Thus, all the patients included in our study received preoperative treatment with SSAs (unlike those patients in14), and previous studies have suggested that preoperative SSAs treatment may lead to reduced SSTR2 expression.10, 38 Nevertheless, our previous analysis of this group of tumours has confirmed that SSTR2 expression adequately discriminates between good and poor responders to SSA treatment13 results that compare well with those reported in SSA‐naive patients, thus arguing against a substantial impact of SSAs preoperative treatment on SSTR2 expression.
