TNFα concentrations were not correlated with the severity of anxiety (Spearman r = 0.15; p = 0.27), depression (Spearman r = 0.18, p = 0.19) or somatization (Spearman r = 0.14; p = 0.28), suggesting that psychological symptoms and CD4+ T-cell stimulated cytokines were not related. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and major depressive disorder.
