Previously studies have suggested that Meg3 is a tumor suppressor lncRNA, and Meg3 is down regulated in a number of different cancers such as breast, bladder and hepatocellular carcinoma and that its downregulation increases cell proliferation in those types of cancer (Zhang et al., 2003; Anwar et al., 2012; Ying et al., 2013; Sun et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene MEG3 and cancer.
