Meta-analysis of TP53 rs1042522 polymorphism was associated with an increased risk of malignant bone tumors (G versus C: OR = 1.27, 95% CI 1.08–1.50, P=0.005; GG versus CC: OR = 1.41, 95% CI 0.99–2.01, P=0.057; GG/GC versus CC: OR = 1.13, 95% CI 0.87–1.48, P=0.365; GG versus GC/CC: OR = 1.55, 95% CI 1.21–2.00, P=0.001) (Figures 2–5 respectively). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is bone cancer.
