One drug target in AD is the metalloprotease “a disintegrin and metalloprotease 10” (ADAM10), which acts as α‐secretase and cleaves the amyloid precursor protein (APP) within the amyloid β (Aβ) domain (Lammich et al, 1999; Jorissen et al, 2010; Kuhn et al, 2010). This evidence concerns the gene ADAM10 and Alzheimer disease.
