Similar to the case of PD, several studies performed with inflammatory colitis mouse models and with samples obtained from patients with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and with Crohn's disease (CD) have consistently indicated that gut inflammation in IBD is driven mainly by the inflammatory effector CD4+ T-cell subsets Th1 and Th17 (50, 51). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is Parkinson disease.
