LEP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency: BAIBA treatment also had no effect on plasma lipid parameters in mice with high-fat diet-induced obesity or in obese leptin-deficient ob/ob mice [48,49], but led to a decline in postprandial levels of TG and fasting cholesterol levels in ob/+ mice with partial leptin deficiency [49], and reduced fasting FFA, TG, and low density lipoproteins (LDL) cholesterol levels in high-fat diet/low-dose streptozotocin model of type 2 diabetes mellitus in mice [24].
