An investigation of the Warburg effect in Burkitt’s lymphoma (BL) cells, where the HIF1A protein was highly expressed in EBV-positive BL cell lines, showed that the inhibition of MYC activity led to decreased expression of MYC-dependent genes and LDH-A activity, implicating MYC as the master regulator of aerobic glycolysis in these cells [26]. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and Burkitt lymphoma.
