Here, we provide evidence that RAE1 regulates gene transcription by binding to the promoter region of a particular gene, ZEB1. Although we have realized the analysis of RAE1 expression in the Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE) databank did not find any correlation between RAE1 and ZEB1 mRNA expression nor with the breast cancer subtypes (Fig. S7), it may seem quite plausible to say that the regulation of ZEB1 expression by RAE1 is cell context-specific and/or may depend on the threshold of RAE1 expression. Here, ZEB1 is linked to breast cancer.
