RPS6KA1 and neoplasm: RSK1 and 2 also promote the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells from different tumours such as breast, colon, kidney, stomach and prostate, through mechanisms including (1) inducing a FRA1 and c-jun-dependent transcriptional program related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT); (2) phosphorylating SH3P2 and blocking its anti-motility effects; and (3) phosphorylating filamin A and suppressing the integrin activation through its increased binding activity [74].
