GPT and Hypertension: The following variables were higher in men and women with diabetes than those in their counterparts: age, body weight (BW), body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) (in women), glucose, HbA1c, triglyceride (TG), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GTP), uric acid (in women), estimated glomerular filtration rate (e-GFR) (in women), proportion of proteinuria, smoking (in men), prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and use of anti-hypertensive, lipid-lowering, and anti-diabetic drugs.
