Donors infused with albumin had significantly higher POD2ALB (Unmatched, median 3.7 [interquartile range 3.5–3.8] vs. 3.0 [2.8–3.2], P < 0.001 and PS-matched, 3.7 [3.5–3.8] vs. 3.0 [2.7–3.2], P < 0.001) and lower incidence of pleural effusion (Unmatched, 83 [32.4%] vs. 317 [43.4%], P = 0.002 and PS-matched, 55 [28.5%] vs. 76 [39.4%], P = 0.024), compared to those infused with synthetic colloid during donor hepatectomy. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and Pleural effusion.
