CRP and Abnormal emotional state: As expected given the small effect size of inflammation on psychological distress, only CRP > 3.01 mg/L (high) (OR 1.44, 95% CI 1.19–1.73, p < 0.001) but not CRP between 1.01 and 3.00 mg/L (moderate) (OR 1.16, 95% CI 0.97–1.38, p = 0.11) was associated with increased psychological distress compared to CRP < 1.00 mg/L (low).
