Interestingly, elevated levels of Tau phosphorylation have been reported in the pancreas of patients with T2D (Miklossy et al., 2010), and recently, we showed significant Tau hyperphosphorylation in pancreatic islets from a transgenic mouse model of AD and T2D (Wijesekara et al., 2017).
