The possible explanation might be that lncRNA ITSN1‐2 perhaps facilitated inflammatory factors production via several inflammatory pathways (such as NF‐κB pathway and TLRs pathway), leading to aggravation of inflammation and exacerbation of organ dysfunction, thereby resulted in increased disease severity in sepsis patients.18, 19, 20 However, how lncRNA ITSN1‐2 modulates inflammatory responses and causes progression of disease severity in sepsis requires further studies on mechanism to validate it.
